Staff smiling for a photo with Mary Duchesneau to celebrate 35 years of work in the district.

At our May Staff Meeting we got to celebrate many Maywood team members' years of service to the District. Most notable is Mary Duchesneau's 35 years of baking homemade desserts and greeting students with a smile every day as our lunchroom cashier. She started in October 1990 and worked at Apollo Elementary and other schools before settling in at Maywood. Mary has been serving ISD students longer than any other current Food Services team member.

Meet Principal Crystal Weik

Hello, Charger families! Two of my favorite things about being a principal are the opportunity to spend time problem-solving with students and learning from our staff. A few fun facts about me: My favorite children’s book is “Charlotte’s Web,” and I love Country music. If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be filet mignon. My travel bucket list includes zip-lining in a tropical location. And, I am lucky to now be the principal at the same school I once attended as a student!
