Maywood Chorale Lights Up the Landing

The Maywood Chorale, a smaller version of the Maywood Choir and led by Choir teacher Alex Nguyen, performed at the Renton Landing Holiday Tree Lighting on November 19. They were one of several local school choirs to provide music and delighted the audience with a song from the ever-popular "Frozen" soundtrack and the "Carol of the Bells." The music added just the right festive tone to a night featuring snow machines, stilt walkers, and a laser lightshow, in addition to the tree lighting.

Nguyen described the event as being “completely worth it for the students to share their music with the community!” Nguyen, who also became sick on the days leading up to the event, was proud of the leadership and teamwork of students. “Many of our singers stepped up and adjusted without batting an eye, and for that, I am very grateful as a teacher,” he said. 

What a way to open the holiday season. Way to go, Chargers!
