Maywood Welcomes Future Chargers With Music and Tours

5th grade visitors listen to orchestra

Preparations for next school year are well underway. Students are registering for their courses, counselors are fielding questions, and students are visiting their future schools. We recently welcomed 5th grade families and students to Maywood to get a taste of what middle school looks like. Families attended an evening session with presentations from our principals, grade level teams, counselors, and were treated to musical performances.

The next day, future 6th graders from Briarwood, Issaquah Valley, Apollo, and Maple Hills Elementary schools visited Maywood with their current teachers. Our WEB leaders led tours around campus, then students assembled in the gym. After a greeting from Principal Erin Armstrong, students were heard from our Choir, Orchestra, and Band classes. Counselors Tiffany Adler and Kristin Beasley introduced themselves, and current 6th grade students shared their favorite things and tips for newcomers.

We look forward to seeing our new 6th grade students in August. Go Chargers!
