Ms. Chang's Biology Class Goes Microscopic

Students in Chang's class use a microscope in biology.

This time around, biology students in Bree Chang's class are viewing live algae under a microscope to determine how the population is affected by excess nutrients entered into the habitat. For many students, this is the first time they get to experience part of the joy of being a biologist through a microscope. When asked about the lesson, Maddy I. concluded that “microscopes are fun.”

Students are learning many things in the process. A student in Chang's class, Kenny D. had many takeaways, perhaps most notably is this tip: “don’t get algae in your eye or you’ll have an eyeball ecosystem!”

Like a true scientist, Maywood students are learning about the many discoveries to be made.
