Beginning Wednesday, March 4th, incoming sixth grade students can complete the course registration process via Student Access. Informational materials as well as Student Access login information will be sent home with students on Feb. 26th. Informational materials will also be available on the Maywood website after March 4th. Additionally, the same information will be sent via email to parents on Wednesday, March 4th. Course requests are due in Student Access by Monday, March 16th at 4 p.m.

On Thursday Feb. 26th, 5th grade students and their families are invited to attend an informational session about the course selection process from 6-7:30 p.m. During the evening you'll have an opportunity to learn more about Electives, PE, Health, Math, Science and Social Studies. We encourage you to carpool, if possible.

Our Incoming sixth grade students will visit the Maywood campus on Friday, Feb. 27 from 10-11 a.m. They will travel with their fifth grade class by bus and learn about the course selection process as well as meet our administrators, counselors and hear about elective choices.

Maywood Middle School Elective Course Descriptions

*Please note that for the 2026-27 school year, we are not offering Film Making or Mixed Media Art. These courses will be offered again during the 2027-28 school year.

All Maywood eighth grade students will register for classes with Liberty High School.

Liberty High School (LHS) Course Request Information and Timeline 

As we do each spring, we will be running our Course Request Process (or CRP) beginning Wednesday, February 25th through Wednesday March 11th. During this window, students will be able to request the courses they would like to take for the coming school year. After that window is closed, our Counseling team will review the schedules to make sure students have everything they need in order to be on track to graduate. Once that has taken place, we will begin the task of putting together our “Anchor” Schedule which will be the framework for next school year.

Incoming 9th graders (current 8th graders), will be going through this same process at their respective middle schools. Monday February 23rd students will watch a Liberty Course Request Process video during Charger Time. During the course request window, LHS counselors will be visiting Maywood  to help to answer any questions students might have on Tuesday March 3rd during Charger Time.

For the parents of incoming 9th graders, we will be having our Incoming Freshmen Night at Liberty High School Wednesday, February 25th from 5:30-7:55pm. This will be an opportunity for families to meet with counselors, ask questions, and learn more about the different programs offered at Liberty. Click here to access the informational flyer.

Gibson Ek High School  

Gibson Ek is accepting applications from 8th graders in the Issaquah School District interested in an innovative project-based education model for their high school experience.  The application window for Gibson Ek High School is open from Monday January 12th through Friday March 13th.

Students are selected for admission by a lottery held on Monday, March 16th.
